TS-Idea
As the project involves making a title sequence for a TV show or Film, I wanted to envision what my TV show would be about based on the brief I have chosen f a melodrama based around a breakdown. The Idea I had was an anthology series, showcasing different stories of many people experiencing a breakdown in their lives, and being close to the edge, my first piece of inspiration was a drawing I did for a cancelled project last year.
Introduction to the Ident
The Ident is a personal logo and opening that reflects the personality of the creator and the work they create. It is designed to be a short intro at the beginning of my products, that fits around the type of work I do. My style of work is usually cartoonish and hand-drawn so I need o find influences around that such as this intro.
Ident-Idea
As I said earlier, I want my Ident to portray a comedic and simple sense to relate to my style of work, 2D Animation. As it's going to be a personal Ident, I wanted to create a cartoonish version of myself as shown below.
Introduction to the Title Sequence
The title sequence is a short 20 second introduction to a film or tv show that I've come up with. Based on the list of briefs in the module guide, I've decided to go with the Breakdown/Melodrama brief, taking inspiration from such TV Shows as 13 Reasons Why and This is Us
Music Video-Three Important Characters
The Music Video tells a story of a young couple becoming parents through surrogacy. As such there are three main characters in this Story, The Mother, The Father and the Child The Mother: The mother character has the most on-screen time and is considered the closest relation to the child, along with the rest of the world, the character is designed in monochrome. Along the story, I want the Mother to age considerably. The Father: Of the three important characters, The father has the least screen time and is going to be killed off mid-story. Again, the character is in monochrome, and I want the character to have a cool and almost dis-interested feel. The Child: Like the mother, I want the Child to age considerably through the move, starting as a baby, just born, to a young woman leaving for university by the end. Unlike the rest of the world, the child is going to be in full colour.
Title Sequence Story
Combining my inspirations of 13 Reasons Why and This is Us, I envisioned a TV show that featured a anthology of stories involving various persons dealing with a breakdown in their life, and I want my Sequence to envision that.
